
Gord Maxwell
Raised in Saskatchewan, Canada, Gord started singing at the age of six and graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Music Performance - Voice/Opera degree. After graduation, Gord quickly found his place in professional music and built a career in country music. He soon gained attention on a national scale as one of the lead singers and songwriters in the Juno-nominated, One Horse Blue. Gord's voice was part of the signature sound of the vocal group and he was also co-writer of One Horse Blue's #1 Canadian Country hit, “Hopeless Love”.
Since moving to the west coast in the 80’s Gord has been sought after as a studio singer. His voice continues to be heard on Canadian country radio on a daily basis. He is one of the 'Gords' in a country pop, singer-songwriter trio called The Gords. For over 20 years Gord recorded and toured as bassist and harmony singer with Ian Tyson, singer/songwriter and Canadian folk/country icon. Gord is the Creative Director/ Writer and Artist and a partner in Pure Pacific Music for Young Learners. He is currently the bassist and one of the singers in the legendary rock band, Chilliwack. In 2019, Gord was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame as part of Chilliwack.
